Checking the Family provides you with an answer as to how widespread a patent or pending application is and thereby how important it potentially is.
OSIP Search & Watch can perform a focussed and effective Family search by means of searching in the professional patent database literature and registers worldwide and report the results to you in a handy electronic format. In addition, it often is advisable to check upon the status as well (see Status). We can check the present family and/or status for you and, if necessary, do that periodically by putting a watch or an alert on the family to keep you posted of developments over time and/or its status changes (see Watch).
The cost for a Family search in the patent literature amounts to the number of spent hours of searching times our hourly rate increased by the costs incurred for data base usage. Ex VAT an amount of 120 – 200 € per family upto 20 members increased by 10 € per each further member is normally expected. Please bear in mind a turnaround time of ordinarily 2 – 10 working days.
